Operations – Member Support
CDCC provides support to its members in areas such as:

  • Asset Management
  • Position Management
  • Trade and Exercise inquiries
  • Information Technology
This support is provided to ensure that the membership is able to quickly and efficiently facilitate its margin and settlement obligations.

Financial Services
The following section is an overview of the available facilities. Members are requested to review CDCC's Operations Manual for Specific details on how to use these offerings.

Margin / Clearing Fund / Difference Fund Deposits
CDCC currently accepts Canadian and US T-Bills, Canada Government Bonds, Letters of Credit, Cash and valued securities to offset the Members' obligations.
CDCC currently has relationships with the CDS Depository for Securities and the Depository Trust Clearing Corporation.

Banking Relationships
To ensure that CDCC and its Members are able to efficiently move funds to offset obligations, CDCC has implemented a process that uses Financial Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) through a major Canadian Bank.



Operational and Information Technology Services

On-line Services

CDCC's infrastructure for Clearing consists of state-of-the-art server technology connecting itself with it's stakeholders via a TCP/IP internal and external network.

SOLA Clearing application system
Trade data is received from the Montreal Exchange as the trade occurs. Positions are immediately updated within CDCC's SOLA Clearing application. Members are able to access, input and modify their own information in a Real Time mode through CDCC's clearing application from their offices.
CDCC's members receive Daily Reports each morning prior to the start of business.

VPN and Members' Extranet Site
CDCC's services are accessed via a Virtual Private Network (VPN) that uses the TCP/IP communications protocol for the Internet. This network allows access to CDCC's SOLA Clearing application and the Members' FTP Server.
CDCC Members' Extranet site contains easy access to all CDCC Notice to Members, Operational Notices, Rule updates and other pertinent information. CDCC feels that this information is key to the smooth operation of its Members' back office, this is included as part of the CDCC base service offering.



Optional Services

Data Service File
CDCC will create a file that contains the current day's trades, positions and assignments for that Member. This allows the Member to custom build reports or interfaces into back office systems.

Series Information File
CDCC creates a Series Information file on a daily basis.
